26 Mosaics for Art on Oakdale

Building Community and Artistic Practice through Mosaic Art Donation
Maine Arts Commission Artist Springboard Grant, FY2026

This project brought together a series of 26 small-scale mosaics created in my Portland studio and shared through Art on Oakdale, the free little art gallery outside my studio.

Each piece became an opportunity to explore a particular material, technique, pattern, or design idea on a small scale. The series includes both small mosaics and mosaic jewelry, with work ranging from studies rooted in traditional mosaic techniques to more playful experiments in color, texture, and form.

As each mosaic was completed, it was placed in Art on Oakdale to be freely taken home by someone in the community. The works were released throughout the grant period, through June 2026, and all 26 are documented here as a record of the project.

I’m grateful to the Maine Arts Commission for supporting this project and for its continued investment in artists and arts communities throughout Maine.

This project is supported in part by The Maine Arts Commission, which receives support in part from the National Endowment for the Arts, a federal agency.
